Wolfgang Grimm’s Ecological & Green Vision for Southern Thailand
Working in the global hotel field, I have had the opportunity to meet some truly remarkable people from all walks of life. People that are inspirational, people who live on the edge, and people who take calculated risks and live their dreams.
One such person is Wolfgang Grimm AM.
Wolfgang has been in the hotel game for over 50 years, yet everyday he approaches work and life in such a positive and proactive manner, it’s truly a breath of fresh air. Fresh air that makes you want to breath in deep to try and emulate this positiveness into your own, everyday life.
His drive and energy level are that of someone half his age (or younger). Wolfgang makes long hours, hard work, and success look effortless. Through our professional relationship, I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy with him, the fruits of this labour. Whether that is at Oishi – his partner’s Japanese-Thai restaurant in the Hunter Valley district of Australia, his private vintage of Shiraz and Semillon from this same region, or his current hotel project that I believe will inspire and raise the bar of resort offerings in Krabi, Thailand.
Green Vision for Southern Thailand
Wolfgang, after spending many years in Thailand, saw that there was a missing niche in the region’s hotel/resort offerings. Many Thai resorts focus their marketing solely on meeting the popular expectations of: resort swimming pools, massages, breakfast buffets, etc. effectively offering very little to no difference from one another.
“My resort should (and will) be different,” states Wolfgang. “It will appeal to both young and old guests searching for an authentic Thai holiday with local experiences, away from the crowds, and in an ecologically sustainable setting that maintains the indigenous landscape and culture.”
Grimm continues, “I’m excited to offer Southern Thailand a resort that has a more holistic concept for holidays. One that is inspired by nature, while also featuring a Himalayan Salt Crystal Cave and a Panorama Sauna with Herbal Steam.”
“Beaches? No problem. Take our e-Tuk Tuk to our private, natural beach club.
How about a Permaculture Art Farm delivering daily organic far-to-table produce with and integrated cooking school?,” we’ve got it exclaims Wolfgang.
All of these offerings and more are coming to fruition in Wolfgang’s new resort, ANANA. Nestled at the base of Krabi’s limestone cliffs, the resort is surrounded by rainforest and green tranquil countryside, yet is only eight minutes to the beach, city, and long tails to Phi Phi as well as the other eighty nearby Islands. ANANA promises a personal, Eco 5-Star Thai holiday experience.
Presently the resort is in the interior construction phase. Taking into consideration Wolfgang’s past achievements, ANANA is going to bring a giant gust of fresh air and ideas to Krabi, Southern Thailand’s premier Green destination.
Due to open late 2018.
